Engineering Excellence Award - this award will be presented to the project team that best exemplifies excellence in their field, criteria below. Submissions for the 2023 ACEC-NL Engineering Excellence Awards can be completed here
President’s Award – is awarded annually by the ACEC-NL president and recognizes individuals for their lifetime contributions to the advancement of the consulting engineering profession and industry in Newfoundland & Labrador. Details on how to apply can be found here.
Future Leaders Award – recognizes an individual in the first ten years of their career who has contributed to the consulting engineering industry, shown leadership within their company and the industry, demonstrated excellence in consulting business practices, demonstrated commitment to the delivery of quality projects or results, accomplished outstanding achievements in their applicable fields, and shown leadership in the community. ACEC-NL's member firms directly influence virtually every aspect of quality of life in Newfoundland and Labrador — economic, social and environmental. The Newfoundland and Labrador consulting engineering industry:
• Supports strategic sectors such as net-zero, clean energy and climate change.
• Develops infrastructure such as roads, bridges, wharfs, water and waster treatment, and buildings.
• Supports the public education system by developing and hiring engineering and technology graduates from MUN and CNA.
• Supports the repatriation of Newfoundlanders.
• Contributes $28.9 Million annually in taxes.
• Contributes $122.8 Million annually to provincial GDP.
• Creates 1172-person years of direct, indirect and induced employment annually.

*Eligibility Criteria for the ACEC-NL Engineering Excellence Awards
- Only members in good standing of ACEC-NL are eligible to receive awards.
- Participants shall acknowledge all other team members involved including the owner, prime consultant(s), contractors etc.
- The project submitted (or, the assignment for which the applicant is seeking an award) shall have been completed during the 15-month period PRIOR to the date of submission (December 2021 – March 2023).
- An agreement to participate in the award program and permission to use project details, photographs, etc. must be obtained from the client/owner prior to the submission (this does not have to be included in the submission).
- There is no limitation or restriction on project size.
- The projects submitted for the competition shall have been managed and largely completed in the NL office of the member.
- If this project was part of a Joint Venture (JV) with a firm outside of NL – the NL firm must have been the designer of record for the project
- No additions or modifications to the entry are allowed after delivery.
